The Shane Hanchey Invitational is thrilled to announce its Junior Roping event, scheduled to take place in conjunction with the Roping Futurities of America event in Waco, Texas, on March 26-29, 2025. This exciting event will serve as a qualifier for the 2025 Junior Patriot, welcoming ropers aged 19 and under to compete for a chance to earn their spot in one of the most prestigious youth rodeo events in the nation.
The Junior Roping at the Shane Hanchey Invitational is designed to shine a spotlight on the next generation of roping talent. As one of the most lucrative junior roping events in the country, it offers young athletes a unique opportunity to showcase their skills while competing for significant payouts. In 2023, the Junior Roping paid out over $60,000, making it one of the most rewarding events a young roper can participate in.
“This event is one of the things that I look forward to the most every year,” said Shane Hanchey. “My goal with the Junior Roping is to give kids a chance to experience a well-produced roping event that pays a lot of money and lets them rope suitable calves for each age group. I believe in supporting the up-and-coming generation of ropers by providing them with opportunities that help build their skills and confidence in the sport. This event is all about giving back to the kids and investing in the future of rodeo.”
Entries for the Junior Youth Roping qualifier will open on December 26, 2024 through the NextGen Rodeo App. We invite all young ropers and their families to mark their calendars and join us for this incredible event.
